2011 Winners
Thank you to the 18,417 commuters who participated in Fall Wheel Options, October 16-29, 2011. Your commute choices are part of a collective solution for managing congestion on our state's roadways and reducing our contribution to climate change.
Grand Prize Winner:
Congratulations to Christopher Rainey from REI-Headquarters in City of Kent.
He's the Grand Prize winner of $2,500!

How did Christopher Rainey find out he was the Fall Wheel Options grand prize winner? His ETC at REI asked him to log into the Wheel Options website and check the list of winners. At first he didn’t believe it. “Were I not speechless when I learned that I was the grand prize winner, I would have had words to explain how shocked I was. It is an honor to represent alternative commuting at REI. I’ve never won anything before, so this is truly an amazing way to end the year! Christmas at the Rainey household will be a little brighter for my wife and kids this year.”
The news happened to arrive on Christopher’s birthday which made the day even more special. The first thing he did was call his wife. He wanted to surprise her, so he asked her to log onto the Wheel Options site to check his commute calendar. He then told her to click on the list of winners and she was just as shocked as he was.
Thanks to REI’s flexible schedule and telework program via their Customized Work Environment, Christopher has teleworked two days a week for the last four years. According to Christopher, winning the grand prize is a pleasant bonus for living his values of environmental stewardship. For him, alternative commuting “just seems like the right thing to do”.
